LOCATION AND TRAVEL OPTIONS TO THE BYBLOS RESORT MANUEL ANTONIO
Manuel Antonio is located on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica . The coastline is considered among the most beautiful in the country. Long stretches of white sand beach, crystal blue waters and rainforest terraces complete this picturesque piece of paradise. Enjoy the average year-round water temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit. In Manuel Antonio you will experience why the Costa Rican salutation and motto is "Pura Vida", meaning "Pure Life". Full of restaurants, shops, night-life and nature activities, you'll never experience boredom. The area is world renown for local Sports fishing, nearby Surfing, Rainforest Eco-tours, Whitewater Rafting, jungle canopy tours and a host of other activities.
There are several ways to get from San Jose to Manuel Antonio:
Sansa Airlines: Flies from Juan Santamaria, San Jose 's International Airport , directly to Quepos. Flight time is 25 minutes. There are several daily flights which can be booked at www.flysansa.com . It is a ten minute ride from the Quepos Airfield to the Byblos Resort. We are pleased to arrange pickup or drop-off service.
Private Shuttle Service: We can arrange for a private shuttle bus to pick up your group in San Jose and provide door-to-door service to the Byblos . Typically, the cost will be around $130 (total) each way for up to eight people plus luggage in a 12 passenger van.
Interbus: Interbus service from San Jose to the Hotel costs $29 each way. Interbus will provide direct shuttle service from the airport to Manuel Antonio. Once in Manuel Antonio, you may stop at many different hotels to drop off other passengers. Please contact us and we will be happy to book this for you.
Driving: Roads are winding, steep and poorly lit and maintained, by American standards. From the San Jose International Airport , take the Pan-American Highway to Atenas. Exit at Atenas-Orotina sign and continue your drive over the scenic mountains past Orotina. Continue on past Jaco, Parrita and finally Quepos. Once in Quepos, turn left just past the tiny park, and drive another 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) on the curvy road to Manuel Antonio National Park . You will see the Hotel Byblos sign and parking on your left hand side. The total distance from the Juan Santamaria San Jose airport is 90 miles (150 kilometers) which will take around 3-3.5 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
Nature Air: Flies from San Jose to Quepos, but does not fly out of the International Airport . . There are several daily flights which can be booked at www.natureair.com . It is a ten minute ride from the Quepos Airfield to the Byblos Resort. We are pleased to arrange pickup or drop-off service.
